Breaking News: A Window of Opportunity in Iowa's Senate
A Democratic seat in Iowa's 18th Senate district has become vacant as of earlier today when the resignation was announced of Sen. Swati Dandekar. Dandekar's appointment to the Iowa Utility Board by Governor Terry Branstad has resulted in a special election to fill the vacated Senate seat scheduled for November 8th.
Democrats have held a narrow 26-24 majority in the Iowa Senate prior to this seat being vacated. Keep a close eye on the Constitution Party of Iowa's web site for additional developments in the coming days. A Man's Character: Does it Matter?

Merriam- Webster.com defines character as:
the complex of mental and ethical traits marking and often individualizing a person, group, or nation ;
moral excellence and firmness;
conduct that conforms to an accepted standard of right and wrong
In today's society a person's behavior, no matter how odd, eccentric, or immoral, is generally accepted under the premise of "judge not lest you yourself be judged" or "each to their own". We have arrived at a point in time where the relevance and importance of moral excellence via our biblically guided ideals of right and wrong are considered politically incorrect and detrimental to one's career.
American Jobs Act?
President Obama gave his American Jobs Act speech just a few short hours ago as his solution to our economic troubles. He did a good job of making it sound believable and achievable But as Baker's chocolate sounds good and vanilla smells good it's an entirely different matter when you try tasting it.

For quite some time, many have kept their eyes on the United Nations Small Arms Treaty.
