Breaking News: A Window of Opportunity in Iowa's Senate
|
A Democratic seat in Iowa's 18th Senate district has become vacant as of earlier today when the resignation was announced of Sen. Swati Dandekar. Dandekar's appointment to the Iowa Utility Board by Governor Terry Branstad has resulted in a special election to fill the vacated Senate seat scheduled for November 8th.
Democrats have held a narrow 26-24 majority in the Iowa Senate prior to this seat being vacated. Keep a close eye on the Constitution Party of Iowa's web site for additional developments in the coming days.
